As a Medical Assistant, you will play an important part in the daily operation of the clinic by partnering with the clinical staff and administrative team to ensure our patients receive quality service. Our ideal candidate will have compassion for helping our patients, and a commitment to ensure operations run smoothly.
Highlights of the Position
- Greet new patients to the clinic and make them feel welcome
- Take patient medical histories, obtain chief complaints, take vital signs, and prepare patients for examination and treatment.
- Review patient charts and files for completeness.
- Prepare equipment and supplies for clinical procedures, including aspirations, injections, and X-rays.
- Administer injections, remove casts, splints, and dressings as directed by physician.
- Prepare prescriptions as directed by physician.
- Assist with the scheduling of tests and treatments.
- Schedule patient surgeries and obtain insurance information and pre-certify surgeries, if needed.
- Respond to patient and payor phone calls.
- Order and maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment.
- Maintain patient files in the EHR and document as necessary.
What Is Required
- Medical Assistant Certification through a sanctioned third-party, such as The American Registry of Medical Assistants, National Health career Association, American Association of Medical Assistants, National Center for Competency Testing, or American Medical Technologists.
- Have one or more years of experience working as a medical assistant.
- Must have current CPR certification
- Experience in orthopaedic is a plus.
- Have exceptional skills for providing care and compassion to patients and their families
- Work swiftly and accurately manage the flow of patients, without any diminishing focus on patient care.
