Customer Service Representative
Job Description
We are looking for a dynamic, compassionate, and dedicated Patient Service Representative to join our Customer Service Department. This position will help to contribute and ensure our patients receive equal and high-quality healthcare services within our community-based organization.
We prefer that you have at least 1 year of Medical related experience, with a strong preference towards those with call center or front office related roles. This position will take place in a call-center setting, and may require a volume of 50-100 calls per day. Customer service is crucial, so we value anyone with skills in communication, phone etiquette, and past experience in high-volume call environments.
Ideally, you are highly-organized, able to work in a team-oriented environment, be computer savvy, able to communicate clearly and have outstanding customer service.
What you will be doing:
- Primary point of contact for inquires, concerns or requests of information
- Answer calls in a high call volume environment
- Follow established guidelines to respond to members in an accurate, timely, professionals and culturally competent manner
- Handle member grievances, appeals and billing issues. Escalate when necessary
- Educate members and providers on eligibility
- Handle member and providers requests through e-mail, voicemail, fax, etc.
- Conduct member surveys as assigned
- Attend and participate in department meetings
- Perform other related duties as required or assigned
Qualifications:
- High school Diploma or GED (copy) required
- Must clear a Background screening to apply
- 1 year of medical experience required
- 1 year of customer service or call center experience strongly preferred
- Preferred experience with managed care plans, Medi-Cal and Medicare programs, and working with the underserved populations
- Knowledge of computer applications and performing data entry
- Excellent communication skills
- Maintain confidentiality
- Bilingual abilities are a plus!
Schedule:
- Monday - Friday: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
- No weekends!
