Medical Biller & Coder $18-$22.HR

Schedule: Mon-Fri - Full-Time 8am - 5pm

We are currently hiring in the Medical Billing/Coding Department at our clinic. We are in need of a medical biller and coder that would specialize in Physical therapy billing. We are willing to give the opportunity to a recent CPC graduate as long as is a sharp, bright candidate with the energy and desire to grow in our clinic.

Ideal Medical Coder Candidate Will Possess:

  • Good customer service skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Experience and knowledge of EOB s and processing denials
  • Understands working in a team environment for the success of the team
  • Ability to utilize PC using word, excel, custom billing software

Responsibilities for the Medical Biller/Coder Include:

  • Demonstrate the ability to properly research account issues, resulting in account resolution
  • Establish and maintain relationships with individual payer provider relations representative(s) to resolve collection issues with patient accounts
  • Must demonstrate ability to work select number of accounts daily
  • Prioritize and work assigned accounts to obtain prompt payment from payer
  • Demonstrate accounts receivable claims problem solving
  • Demonstrate the ability to escalate problem accounts to management as required by circumstances
  • Identify and prevent risk and receivable related loss to the management
  • Demographic data gathering
  • Performs secondary billing processes

Candidate Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance billing and reimbursement
  • Proficient PC skills and prior experience in a PC environment
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts and calculations
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures and communicate effectively
  • Ability to make decisions and exercise good judgment in a complex and rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and learn and retain new or evolving information and procedures
  • Ability to work under stress and pressure and respond to inquiries with tact, diplomacy and patience
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to exercise discretion on sensitive and confidential matters
