Job Description

Are you an experienced Medical Records Specialist and are looking for a new role that will help expand your knowledge? Then this is the job for you!

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Organize and maintain electronic and paper medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness and confidentiality of patient records
  • Conduct regular audits of medical records to ensure accuracy and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards
  • Process requests for medical records from authorized individuals or departments, ensuring compliance with privacy laws
  • Prepare and release medical records to authorized personnel in a timely manner
  • Enter and update patient information, medical history, and treatment plans into the electronic health records (EHR) systems
  • Verify and correct any discrepancies in patient records
  • Work closely with healthcare professionals, administrative staff, and other departments to ensure seamless coordination in record-keeping processes

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Associate degree or certificate in Health Information Management (a plus!)
  • Proven experience in medical record management, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) sysems and health information management software
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to privacy regulations (HIPAA)
