Job Description

We are in search of an experienced Patient Support Specialist to join our team! We are a compassionate company that takes pride in helping patients navigate the often-challenging healthcare environment.

Job Duties:

  • Contact patients to set up prescription refills while collecting necessary information to support refill process
  • Submit for insurance re-authorizations
  • Refer all clinical questions, situations, and responses to a pharmacist
  • Obtain necessary documentation from doctor offices and/or patients
  • Ensure clinical compliance of patients by asking pre-determined questions and escalating to a pharmacist
  • Process all faxes and E-script orders
  • Manage and process all refills
  • Work on prior authorizations and insurance over-rides as needed
  • Maintain knowledge of and comply with the regulatory guidelines and standards of practice of the State Board of Pharmacy, FDA, DEA, Dept of Health & Human Services, Medicare, ACHC, URAC & OSHA
  • Triage patient and pharmacist related questions and channel to the appropriate person

Qualifications:

  • Current Pharmacy Technician registration and/or certification in good standing (or commitment to obtain certification/registration within first 60 days of employment
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic skill level in Microsoft software & medical terminology
  • 1+ years of experience in Specialty Pharmacy
