Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist to prepare medication orders, verify information, and ensure adherence to safety and regulatory guidelines. Responsibilities:

  • Verify completeness of medication orders, patient information, and physician authorization
  • Assist pharmacist in preparing medication orders through compounding and admixing
  • Confirm insurance approval before admixing medications
  • Accurately calculate dosage volumes and convert between metric and apothecary units
  • Maintain indigent patient drug program and conduct weekly counts of controlled drugs
  • Keep current drug information and MSDS sheets
  • Dispose of materials used in IV mixing according to guidelines
  • Conduct regular checks for outdated medications and ensure quality assurance
  • Maintain temperature logs and records for protocol and patient assistance drugs
  • Control documentation of medications, including lot numbers, and ensure inventory accuracy
  • Receive, shelve, and ensure adequate supplies of standard drug inventory
  • Prepare labels, file billing, and perform data entry into pharmacy systems

Qualifications:

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician
  • 3+ years of experience in a pharmacy setting
  • High school diploma
